James Edward Nathan Jr. COLUMBIA - The Homegoing Service for James Edward Nathan, Jr. will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road (2440 Atlas Road, Columbia) with burial at Zion Mill Creek Church Cemetery. Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home (2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia) has been entrusted with the arrangements. The visitation for James will be held this evening at the funeral home from 6-7:00 p.m. James was born in Columbia, South Carolina to Carol Williams-Gridine and James Edward Nathan Sr. He passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the age of 17. Jay, as he was known, attended school at A.C. Flora and Lower Richland. He worked in the food industry. Jay had a true passion for sports, especially basketball. He also loved music and dancing. He is survived by: his parents, Carol (Terry) Gridine and James (LaTasha) Nathan Sr.; siblings: Darius Williams, Donquell Williams and Jasmine Cofield; stepbrother, Terrell (Courtney) Grooms and stepsister, KeAndre Shiver; maternal grandparents, Olige and Ernestine Williams Jr.; paternal grandparents, Junnie Mae (Albert) Richardson and Ervin (Ira Mae) Jackson Sr.; uncles: Olige Williams, III, Christopher Williams, John (Tabitha) Nathan, Ervin (Ethel) Jackson Jr., Albert Richardson Jr., Christopher Richardson; aunts: Jennifer (John) Stevenson, Denise Jackson, Juanita Jackson, Kecia Lara; special friend, Ebony Bracy; 15 great aunts and four great uncles; and other relatives and dear friends.
