Betty Hook Corley WEST COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Betty Hook Corley, 86, will be held at Mt Hermon Lutheran Church Cemetery on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. W. Eric Friedrichs officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Corley was born September 28, 1928 and passed away peacefully in her home Friday, August 21, 2015. She was the youngest child of the late Gus Tavous and Mattie Areheart Hook. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Brady Franklin Corley. Mrs. Corley was preceded in death by brothers; Marshall Leon Hook, Wilbur Edward Hook, James Leslie Hook and Frank Wilkes Hook and sisters; Annie Ruth Hook Anderson, Julia Evelyn Hook Powers and Francis Virginia Hook Fulmer. She was a member of Mt Hermon Lutheran Church and a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca Corley Padgett (Lee) of Athens, GA, Vickie Corley Roberts (Steve) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Jessica (Tristan) Venables of Charlottesville, VA, Thad (Beth) Padgett and Gabe Padgett of Athens, GA, Casey (Brett) Vigrass of Johns Island, SC, Will (Kellie) Roberts and Nick Roberts of Lexington, SC; great-grandchildren, Jonah and Milla Venables of Charlottesville, VA, and Brady Padgett of Athens, GA. The family would like to extend a special word of gratitude to Janie Rabon, Rena Schwartz, Sandra Wooley, Portia Wortley and Beverly Bailey for their love and compassionate care provided to Mrs. Corley. Memorials may be made to Mt Hermon Lutheran Church, 3011 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. I'm sorry but I just heard about your Mom's death. Please know that you and your families are in our thoughts and prayers.....The sweetest memory that I will always remember about your Mom is her smile! She had the most lovely smile and was such a sweet, sweet person. We love you!!
