Marion Garrow Obituary

RUTLAND TOWN - Marion Lynne (Bowker) Garrow of Rutland Town passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24th, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Marion was born March 27, 1945, in Rutland, VT, daughter of Ralph E. and Isabelle R. (Waite) Bowker. She graduated from Rutland High School in 1963. In September 1964, she married her true love and soulmate, Larry Wynn Garrow.

Marion went to work for Moore Business Forms shortly after graduation and stayed 7 years, before she and her husband started Garrow Printing in 1967, a business that allowed them to always be close to their family and one that they both worked at until they retired.

Marion and Larry wanted children but were married 12 years before they were blessed with their first daughter, Lori. Six years later, their second daughter, Michelle, was born. Marion loved motherhood and the roles and responsibilities that it brought with it. That joy and excitement returned each time she watched as her 7 grandchildren were welcomed into the world.

Throughout her life Marion also enjoyed cooking (which she was quite good at), camping each summer with friends and family, card nights with friends, and bowling in a league. However, Marion was always self-sacrificing and never was she happier than when she was caring for her husband, kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her daughters Lori Alexander and Michelle Merrill of Rutland, VT; brother, Arthur Bowker of Mascoutah, IL; sisters Gail Cameron of Ludlow,VT, and Debra House of Middletown Springs, VT. She also leaves behind grandchildren Deanna, Michael, Shanna, Naomi, Jacob, Christopher and Landon. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph Bowker (1971) and Isabelle Bowker (1989); and husband, Larry Garrow (2011).

A celebration of Marion's life will be held at the Church at Rutland on Dorr Drive in Rutland, VT, on Tuesday, March 31st at 4:30 p.m.. A reception will be held immediately following.
