THE REVEREND LININGTON DURYEA CROSSMAN entered the Church Triumphant on October 28, 2008. A native Texan he was born in Port Arthur on February 12, 1928. He grew up in Houston attending Lamar High School and received degrees from Rice University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. As an ordained Presbyterian minister, he served parishes in El Paso, Houston, South Houston, New Orleans, Pasadena, Galveston, and Bryan. He was active in Kairos Prison Ministry and Presbyterian Cursillo. He had a love for missions and in recent years traveled to Costa Rica and Alaska, serving on mission teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linington and Eva Crossman, and his son John. He is survived by his dear wife Martha, his children Ardis Hartney and husband James, Robert Crossman, James Crossman, Andrea Oden and husband Matthew, and by the children of his wife Martha: Tom Godfrey and wife Cathleen, George Godfrey and wife Karen, Douglas Godfrey and wife Angela and also Caroline Weber and husband Bob. His surviving siblings are Margaret Badger and husband Algernon, Elsie Moore and husband Pat, Alfred Crossman and wife Janet; his cousin Peggy Mohler and husband Ed, and his aunt Allison Sanford as well as a number of beloved nieces and nephews. His grandchildren are Mark and wife Kim, Mary and Maureen Hartney; Victoria and Ryan Crossman, Joshua and Amanda Oden. With Martha he shared grandchildren Bobby, Rachel, Kristina and Sara Godfrey. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, Nov. 8 at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, 1511 El Dorado Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe, Houston, 77030 or to Clear Lake Presbyterian Church Global Mission Outreach, 1511 El Dorado Blvd, Houston, 77062.

I will always cherish the time I had with Lin and Martha in Houston not long ago. He was a very special man. I'm sure God has great work planned for him in heaven.
