James E. Hurley
AGE: 75 • Elmsford, NY & The Villages, FL
Jim is survived by his wife Roberta (Bobbie), daughter Denise Scaglione, son James (Beau) (Greenburgh PD), grandsons Mark and Michael Scaglione, son-in-law Bill Scaglione, brother Thomas and sister Margaret Hurley Patrick. He is pre-deceased by his mother Margaret, father John and brothers John and Timothy. Jim was retired from the NYPD where he served from 1965 - 1985. While in the NYPD he worked in the Tactical Patrol Force and the Bronx Warrant Division. He also was retired from UPS where he worked as a Loss Prevention Supervisor. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Guadalupe in Elmsford. He was a 4th degree member and a past Grand Knight for 5 years. He was also a member of the NYC Emerald Society, the Holy Name Society in Elmsford and a member of the 10-13 Club in the Villages, FL. Jim was the recipient of a lung transplant in 2006 and was blessed with 11 more years with his family. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 1st at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Elmsford, NY. Friends may call from 4-8pm on Monday, July 31st at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home (Elmsford Chapel), 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

God bless you Jim and condolences to Bobbi and family. After Jim moved to Florida (I drove Bobbis car down) we spent a lot of time on the phone discussing trucks which was a hobby we both enjoyed. I'll miss the phone calls Jimmy.........RIP my friend.

God Bless you Jim, you were a good man! I worked with Jim in both TPF and the 43 Pct.. We had a lot of laughs together as Jim was a real funny guy and a great guy to know and work with in the NYPD. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.
