I was deeply saddened to hear of your son's passing. My son is 7 and has Type 1 since he was 19 months old. This is the unthinkable, you are in our hearts and prayers. I am speaking at a conference for a Type 1 cure, and you will be heavy in my heart and on my mind when I am asking donors for a cure. I am so very sorry.

I could not even begin to imagine the pain you, as family members, are experiencing. Though I did not know him well, I still wanted to send my condolences. When I passed him in the halls, he always seemed so stress free, charismatic and happy. He had such a beautiful smile that could light up any room. He was a good athlete! I hope his family finds peace in knowing they raised a loving individual and he will be remembered here at UMASS.
