JOSEPH KARASIN
Joseph passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the age of 89 years. He was born on the family farm in Limerick, SK. Joe completed his high school in 1942, then enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Air Bomber. He flew overseas until the end of the war, arriving home in Limerick in 1946. Joe and his brothers purchased a plumbing and heating business in Assiniboia and eventually sold it in 1951 and moved to Sarnia, ON. He and his brothers moved to Regina in 1954 and again purchased a plumbing and heating business. In 1968, Joe sold his shares in the business due to health reasons. Joe has gone to be with his loving wife of 52 years, Stefi; and was predeceased by his parents Michael and Katherine; his brothers Chuck and Jim; sister Pauline and brothers-in-law Norm and Stan; and niece Michelle. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Linda (Neil) Hollands and children Eric and Kyle; son Ron (Angela) and children Ashley (Chris) and great- granddaughter Zoey and Natasha (Khatchik) and his son Brian; brother Martin (Joan) and their families. Joe is also survived by brother-in-law Myron (Katie); sisters-in-law Helen and Frances; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 3233 Argyle Road, Regina, SK on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Christopher Snook officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park at a later date. The family would like to thank all of the amazing staff and volunteers at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for their loving care of Dad for the last four and a half years. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 - 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8.
